We can look at the map again. [ That's when she realizes she just kinda glossed over the ghost honk thing. ]
Oh yeah, so Fujino and I were talking about horror early yesterday. And I was thinking, what if there's a clown killer honking around at night? And might actually be a ghost? So once nighttime hit, I was listening for anything that could sound like a killer clown on the loose. Like honks. But I didn't hear anything like that.
...W-well, that's... good... I dunno if some mystery killer clown ghost would really fit the bill for what they're looking for here, though, so, um, hopefully that's one thing we won't actually have to worry about?
[ ...anyway, yeah, let's look at the map!! ]
The layout of this place is pretty weird. Like, why would there be a gift shop right by the crew's tents, you know?
It looks like they tried to put anything important for amenities close by, but it means most of the traffic would be concentrated here in the mornings and nighttime.
[ He kind of smiles at the bad pun anyway, even though the reaction is a little delayed. ]
Mm... yeah, I guess... but like, usually it's not like the crew would be using a gift shop for much of anything. So it just kinda makes it extra obvious that this was never set up to be a normal circus. ...Plus the training tent's way on the other side and everything.
Yeah, you got a point there... I don't really get the feeling those two just straight-up stole an actual circus and their setup. Which means this is probably for the sake of those Acts they want.
Does stuff like that really exist, though? I mean, I work with some magicians, so I see a lot of pretty fancy illusions, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen any, um, actual magic.
Well, we don't really seem to know the same things? Like how Catman was acting a basement dweller with the whole "disease that affects girls" thing, even though he doesn't seem like a jerkwad. Maybe it's just something that's normal in other places.

[ And that's the lore behind ghost honks. ]

Y-you said maybe it was some kind of occult thing, didn't you?

[ She wasn't even all that keen on the occult before all this. ]
Even for an elaborate hoax, that's going way too far. I mean, it could still be one, but I find it hard to believe Vampy would cooperate with them.
