Uh-huh! While this was getting set up, I made a little obstacle course and had Alfie run through it with Poppy on his back to get him used to it.

[ this was probably extremely cute to watch and it's a tragedy he can't upload a video of it to youtube ]

She didn't fall off once and she doesn't even have hands to hold on with!

Thanks! It depends on the animal, though.

[ poppy does a little duck hop down from his hand, and he scratches alfie's head. ]

Rats are like, really smart, actually, so they're a lot easier to teach stuff to than lots of other animals.

[ what poppy lacks in trainability she makes up for with snuggles though. hello. this is so much fluff. ]

They understand different signals for like, if I want them to come over to me or want them to stay in place. I can get them to bring me stuff too, but it's just random items since they don't have words for what things are.
